Bling! + Figeater
Presented by the Frank Agency.
An evening of highly experimental chamber works and mildly explosive psychedelic dance fiascos featuring clarinetist Beth Fleenor. BLING! is a duo with pianist/percussionist Denney Goodhew that pushes the boundaries of chamber music. A completely improvised, raw, spiritual journey, screaming silence in a whirling pool of stillness… Figeater is Beth (clarinet/bass clarinet/voice/percussion) with Jeff Huston (guitar/electronics), and Mike Hams (percussion). Improvisations are punctuated, buttoned, and launched by original compositions and psychedelic dance explosions. Disjunctive, raucous, soaring, and powerful – a textural, tribal exploration of organic movement.

Jim Haynes + Eric Lanzillotta
presented by Jack Straw Productions
Drawing from shortwave radio static, electric field disturbances, controlled feedback manipulation, and numerous textural scrapings, San Francisco sound artist Jim Haynes aims towards a broken minimalism whose magnetic drones lend the impression of timelessness, when in fact the environment is quite active. Eric Lanzillotta has been involved in sound in various aspects over the last two decades, with releases on Anomalous, Selektion, Alluvial, RRRecords, etc. His recent work uses live analog synthesizer, with a focus on long form works which follow the path of the electronics' subtle changes, a music of timbres and textures rather than notes and melodies.
